Orderblock vs TradeZella

Every comparison page you will find for trading journals was written by one of the vendors. So was this one, and the only honest thing to do about that is to show the working: the Orderblock column claims only what the shipped code does, the TradeZella column is read from their public pages on the date at the foot, and where they are ahead the row says so.

Row by row

TopicOrderblockTradeZellaWho is ahead
When a MetaTrader trade shows up The second it happens. We run the MT4 or MT5 terminal for you, and it pushes every open, every change and every close to your journal as they occur, at any broker. On a sync schedule or by file upload. Their broker list says which accounts can sync automatically. Orderblock ahead
Open positions and live equity Mirrored live: open positions with unrealised P&L, balance and equity, and an equity curve that updates while you trade. Built around closed trades. A live position view is not a published feature. Orderblock ahead
How the numbers are kept Exact decimal strings as the broker reported them. Broker-reported net P&L is used as net and fees are never subtracted twice. Account currency stays attached to every figure, and two currencies are never summed. P&L is computed from imported executions. Precision and currency handling are not documented. Could not compare
The AI A coach that answers from your closed trades and cites the trade IDs behind every claim, so each answer can be opened and checked. Off until you turn it on. AI features are offered. Whether answers cite individual trades is not documented. Could not compare
Where your data lives In the UK and EU, on OVHcloud. No advertising trackers on the site or in the app. A US company; hosting region is not published. Could not compare
Price Pro $24.99 a month or $239.90 a year. Elite $49.99 a month or $479.90 a year. 14-day trial on both, card required, cancel any time. Monthly and annual plans in a similar range. Their pricing page has the current figures; we do not quote them because they change. Level
Broker connections MetaTrader 4 and 5 at any broker, live. cTrader and the hosted brokerage network, collected every 15 minutes. OANDA by token, IBKR by Flex report. Any broker that exports closed trades, by statement. A longer list of direct syncs, particularly for US brokerages and futures platforms. TradeZella is ahead on breadth. TradeZella ahead
Mobile app None. The web app is responsive and works in a phone browser, but there is no native app. iOS and Android apps. TradeZella is ahead here. TradeZella ahead
Time in market New. A small team, direct support by email, and a product that changes quickly. Several years in market and a large community. TradeZella is ahead here. TradeZella ahead

Where TradeZella is ahead

If any of these decide it for you, TradeZella is the right choice today and we would rather you knew now than after a trial.

Where Orderblock is ahead

Both of these come from the same design decision: the journal is fed by a terminal we run for you, so it sees what the broker sees, when the broker sees it.

What we could not compare

Where TradeZella does not document something, we say so rather than guess. These rows describe what Orderblock does and leave their column open.

The checks to run on any journal, including this one

Run these against any shortlist. Most tools fail somewhere in rows 1 to 4, and those are the rows that matter in year two.

CheckWhat to askOrderblock
ReconciliationWhat happens when a broker restates a value under an existing trade ID?The import stops for reconciliation rather than appending a duplicate or overwriting silently.
Numeric precisionAre broker decimals preserved, or parsed into floating point?Exact decimal strings are preserved from import through to display.
Account currencyCan it add two accounts in different currencies together? It will not. Currency stays attached to each account’s figures; no invented conversion.
Fee double-countingIf the broker reports net P&L, does the tool subtract fees again? No. Broker-reported net is used as net; fees are shown separately.
Metric definitionsIs the formula for drawdown, R and profit factor written down?Every metric carries its formula and its exclusions in the product and on the metrics pages.
Sample size visibilityDoes a grouped result show its trade count?Yes, on every grouping.
Fills vs tradesAre separate fill or order exports treated as completed trades? No. They are rejected rather than silently aggregated.
Journal-to-trade linkingCan an entry be opened from a metric, and vice versa?Yes; entries link to individual trades.
Export and exitCan you leave with complete history?Yes. Full trade history export, and account deletion in Settings.
Credential scopeDoes the broker connection have trading rights? No. Read endpoints only; MetaTrader uses a read-only investor password.
Broker claimsDoes the directory imply every listed broker has a live connection? The catalogue labels every broker Live, Polled or Statement import, derived from the code that connects it.

Questions about choosing

If your question is about a specific broker or account type, ask us before you start a trial.

Is Orderblock a TradeZella alternative?

For a MetaTrader, cTrader or OANDA trader who wants trades to arrive live and wants the accounting to match the broker to the penny, yes. If you need a mobile app, the longest possible list of direct US brokerage syncs, or the reassurance of a product that has been around for years, TradeZella is the safer choice today and we say so above.

Can I move my history from TradeZella to Orderblock?

If you can export your trades as a delimited file, the statement importer maps the columns with a preview before anything saves. Prefer a fresh export from your broker where one exists: it is the reconciled source, and the importer keeps the broker’s exact decimals. We have not tested TradeZella’s own export format specifically.

How was this table checked?

The Orderblock column is checked against the code that ships: the broker registry decides which route each broker gets, and the metric formulas on this site are read from the product’s own registry at build time. The TradeZella column is read from their public website and documentation on the review date at the foot of the page. If something in it is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Do you offer a free plan like some journals do?

No. There is a 14-day trial on both plans with a card required, and complete trade history export on every plan so leaving is always possible. We would rather charge a clear price than fund a free tier with your data.
