Ask the AI coach

Ask the AI coach

What the AI coach reads, questions that get useful answers, how saved chats and search work, how AI credits are counted each month and how to turn AI features off.

Updated 26 October 20262 min read

The AI coach answers questions about your own trading in plain English. It reads the selected account’s closed trades, open positions, journal entries and saved backtests, cites the trades behind each answer and says when a sample is too small to support a conclusion. It never predicts prices or gives trade signals.

Questions that work well

Ask about something you can act on:

  • Where did my losses concentrate this month?
  • Do I hold losing trades longer than winners?
  • Which setup has the best expectancy, and on how many trades?
  • How do my results change after two losses in a row?
  • Compare my London and New York sessions.

Follow up the way you would with a person: Show me the trades, Only EURUSD, What about last quarter?

Your chats are saved

Each conversation is saved with its account. Start a new chat any time, and find an old one with Search chats, which looks through titles and messages. Very long conversations reach a length limit; start a new chat to carry on.

Optional daily debriefs and weekly reviews can be switched on in Settings → AI & summaries. You can also choose the coach’s style: coach, analyst or mentor.

The first time in a browser session, the coach asks before sending account data to an AI provider. Broker credentials and account identifiers are never sent. Orderblock’s own AI platform answers first, with Anthropic and OpenAI used as fallbacks and for questions that need data look-ups. AI answers can be wrong, so check anything important against the trades it cites.

To turn AI off, go to Settings → AI & summaries. Nothing further is sent, and everything else keeps working.

AI credits

AI use is measured in credits, based on what each request costs to run. One credit is about $0.001 of AI cost.

A typical question uses roughly 5 to 30 credits, depending on how much data it needs. Journal help, CSV mapping suggestions and digests use a few credits each. Credits reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC) and do not roll over. When they run out, AI features pause until the reset. There are never overage charges.

You can see what is left in the coach, in Settings → AI & summaries and in Settings → Usage. The support chat in the corner does not use your credits.
